French ‘Cartonnier’ Leather Cabinet 1940’s


The cartonnier is a notary filing cabinet with drawers made of leather fronted board.  This cartonnier features 2 removable draws and the large bottom draw (which is made to look like 2) is made of wood. The cabinet is covered with a light brown embossed leather and brass pulls.  The inside of the top draw has the makers label Chalmette-Paris-Bruxelles.  The frame is wood and covered with leather, rolling brass rotating wheels.

Condition is good, some age and wear on leather, around brass pulls and drink marks to the top, see pictures loaded.
